Dedicated Workflow Automation Environment

7-day trial available

Run school workflows without turning your team into automation engineers. k12.cloud gives your school or organization a private environment for workflow automation — useful for parent communications, attendance reminders, fee alerts, SIS-adjacent tasks, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, internal approvals, and recurring operational work. k12.cloud runs the environment. Workflow packages can be installed from k12.cloud, approved partners, consultants, or your own team. Packages may include prebuilt workflows, custom nodes, setup instructions, credential guidance, documentation, and support. You stay in control of your data, credentials, domains, and how the workflows are used.

Start your trial today to get a live environment quickly and explore workflow packages before production rollout.

What this is for

Schools have repeatable work that still happens manually: checking data, sending reminders, routing requests, notifying staff, following up with parents, watching for issues across systems, and coordinating between departments.

  • New fee alerts
  • Attendance reminders
  • Parent communication workflows
  • Missing contact information checks
  • New student enrollment notifications
  • Daily SIS admin digests
  • Failed sync or export alerts
  • Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 automations
  • Staff task routing
  • SIS-adjacent data checks
  • Consultant-built workflows
  • Partner workflow packages
  • Customer-provided workflows

What you get

A private workflow environment

Your organization gets its own dedicated environment with a private k-12.cloud subdomain or a custom domain you control.

Managed hosting and operations

k12.cloud handles infrastructure, monitoring, backups, updates, uptime checks, and monthly operations reporting.

Workflow-ready setup

The environment is prepared for school operations, including package installation, credentials guidance, monitoring, and support options.

Installable workflow packages

Add workflow packages from k12.cloud, approved partners, consultants, or your own team.

Safer production use

Before sensitive workflows go live, we confirm setup, data flow, permissions, behavior, and software rights.

Services deployed

Core services included in this environment. Trial and production policies are shown for each service.

n8n workflow service

application

Runs the workflow automation engine. Trials use the current supported n8n image; production can pin a customer-approved version during readiness review.

Provider: Managed application serviceVersion: latest supported
TrialIncluded in trial

Included for the trial, but local filesystem state is temporary.

ProductionIncluded in production

Provisioned as a dedicated customer service with production settings.

Workflow database

database

Stores durable workflow state, credentials metadata, executions, and production audit history for the environment.

Provider: Managed database
TrialNot provisioned for trial

Not provisioned until billing or production approval is in place, so trial data should be treated as disposable.

ProductionRequired for production

Provisioned per customer environment. Databases are never shared across tenants.

How it works

  1. 1. Choose the environment

Start setup from the portal and define your workflows, integrations, and operations preferences.

  2. 2. We deploy it

k12.cloud provisions the private environment, subdomain, backups, monitoring, and baseline configuration.

  3. 3. Add workflow packages

Install workflow packages from k12.cloud, approved partners, consultants, or your own team.

  4. 4. Confirm production readiness

For sensitive or SIS-connected workflows, we review setup before production use so data, credentials, and behavior are clear.

  5. 5. Run and improve

k12.cloud operates the environment while package providers or your internal team can improve workflows over time.

Software rights and workflow engines

k12.cloud provides managed infrastructure, deployment, monitoring, backups, and operations. Workflow packages may be provided by k12.cloud, approved partners, consultants, or customer-provided sources. Some workflow environments may use open-source, source-available, commercial, or customer-authorized software. Supported workflow engines, including n8n where appropriate, are deployed only under the applicable customer authorization, software license terms, or commercial agreement. Where a workflow engine requires a separate license or commercial arrangement, we confirm that before production use.

Frequently asked

Do we need to know how to run workflow software?
No. The point of this service is to give you a managed environment so your team can focus on the workflow outcome, not the infrastructure.
Can this connect to SIS platforms?
Yes, where appropriate. SIS-connected workflows require a clear setup, approved credentials, and review before production use.
Can third-party partners provide workflows?
Yes. Approved k12.cloud partners can provide workflow packages, implementation support, custom nodes, integrations, and managed workflow services.
Can we bring our own workflows?
Yes. Customer-provided workflows can be installed, subject to setup review for sensitive data, SIS access, credential handling, and production readiness.
Who controls the data?
Your data, credentials, domains, and content remain under your control. Software ownership and license rights depend on the deployment model.
What happens after the trial?
Every deployed workflow environment is production-grade. Commercial tiers and packaging options can be adjusted over time as requirements evolve.
