License and scope

The contracting customer must be the PowerSchool SIS licensee, or an agent authorized in writing to act on that licensee’s paper. Consultants and vendors cannot bring a district SIS unless they are the licensee or authorized agent of the licensee.

  • • This is a single-tenant training / non-production environment for the licensee that already holds the PowerSchool SIS entitlement.
  • • The listed price is infrastructure and operations time only. A PowerSchool license is not sold, included, or transferred.
  • • Not a shared multi-district lab, service bureau, or official PowerSchool Hosting / PowerSchool training offering.
  • • SaaS-only or vendor-hosted-only subscriptions are not eligible. The customer’s agreement must allow a self-hosted or customer-designated third-party-hosted training or test instance.

How it gets deployed

  1. 1. Request deployment review

    This item stays on the review path. After approval, the district or authorized agent opens the implementation wizard.

  2. 2. Complete the wizard and attestation

    Name the environment, pick the hostname, and complete the required license attestation. Setup is saved — we do not start AWS yet.

  3. 3. Payment and approval

    Pay in Billing. We email you at each step and start setup after payment is in. Provisioning cannot start without the attestation.

  4. 4. We provision

    Isolated AWS, first-boot SIS, Cloudflare HTTPS. Typically under 60 minutes after approval.

  5. 5. You sign in

    Open your hosted address over HTTPS. RDP uses the dedicated customer account, not Windows Administrator.

Is this a production student information system?
No. This is a single-tenant training and non-production copy of PowerSchool SIS for the licensee. Do not load real student records.
Does the price include a PowerSchool license?
No. k-12.cloud bills infrastructure and operations time only. We do not sell, resell, or replace the PowerSchool license. You must already hold an entitlement that allows a training or test instance at a customer-designated host.
Is this official PowerSchool Hosting or PowerSchool training?
No. This is not PowerSchool Hosting, an official training program, or a certified / approved host offering. Vendor support, SLA, EMS, and PD+ remain with your PowerSchool agreement.
Can a consultant or vendor buy this for several districts?
Only if they are the licensee or an authorized agent acting on that licensee’s paper. This is not a shared multi-district lab or service bureau.
How long until it is live?
After payment and approval, first-boot usually finishes in under 60 minutes.
What is the price?
The listed small training environment is $199 per month for infrastructure and operations. Medium and large add a published surcharge when a class or workshop needs more CPU and memory — the portal shows the total before you submit.
Can we use RDP?
Yes, as an option. RDP is allowlisted to the IPs you provide. Sign in as the customer account, not Windows Administrator.
How is our data protected?
The environment uses TLS in transit. Data at rest is encrypted with keys k-12.cloud manages in AWS KMS. Secrets stay out of Git.
