SIS Managed Hosting
Hosting and operations for a SIS instance the customer already has the right to run. Includes database operations, application server care, scheduled maintenance windows, and incident response. We do not license or supply SIS vendor software.
License and scope
- • k-12.cloud provides hosting and operations for a SIS instance the customer already has the right to run.
- • We do not license, resell, sublicense, or supply SIS vendor software.
- • Eligible only when the customer’s vendor agreement allows installation at a customer-designated third-party host.
- • The customer is responsible for the vendor license, quantity and site limits, support entitlement, and any vendor notice or quote listing required for a third-party host.
- • Vendor-hosted / SaaS-only subscriptions are out of scope.
For SIS managed hosting and SIS training environments, the contracting customer must be the licensed institution, or an agent acting on that institution’s paper. Consultants and vendors cannot bring a district SIS unless they are the licensee or authorized agent of the licensee.
Environment security
- • Customer data is encrypted in transit with TLS.
- • Data at rest is encrypted with k-12.cloud-managed keys (AWS KMS) on private storage.
- • Daily backups with an off-site copy; credentials stay out of Git.
